Adriana Gutiérrez Colón is a Puerto Rican lawyer and politician born on June 5, 1989, in San Juan, as the youngest of four siblings. She represents the Partido Independentista Puertorriqueño ** as an *at-large * member of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives since January 2025, secured through the Constitution's minority representation clause after the 2024 elections under the Alianza de País coalition. Notable achievements include serving as **Secretary of Women's and Gender Affairs for the PIP since 2021, contributing to the podcast Radio Independencia, and drafting key legislation on universal healthcare, environmental issues, gender violence, and social justice while working as a legislative advisor.

Education and Political Experience

Education:

Earned a Bachelor of Arts in History of the Americas from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. Obtained her Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where she participated in the Human Rights Clinic while working as a waitress. Also studied at the Autonomous University of Chiapas School of Law in Mexico.

Political Experience:

Began as an election official and legislative assistant to Senator María de Lourdes Santiago. From 2017 to 2025, served as legal advisor to Representative Denis Márquez Lebrón. Ran unsuccessfully for Senate in San Juan's district in 2020 and for the 4th District House seat in 2024 , but gained the at-large seat. Currently holds the alternate spokesperson role for PIP in the House.
