About

Adrian Kar-Tsing Tam is a Democratic member of the Hawaii House of Representatives, representing District 22 . Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, he is the only openly gay member of the Hawaii State Legislature and a member of the Progressive Legislative Caucus. Notable achievements include defeating a 16-year incumbent in the 2020 Democratic primary, serving as interim Chair of the Democratic Party of Hawaii , and chairing the House Committee on Tourism since 2024. In 2025, he co-sponsored SB 1571, which reformed the Hawaii Tourism Authority into an advisory board amid public concerns. He has secured over $70 million in capital improvement projects, authored bills on tax transparency and homeless minors, and led legislative responses to issues like the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
