Adam Zabner (0090)

Adam Zabner is a Democratic member of the Iowa House of Representatives representing District 90, which covers part of Iowa City. The son of immigrants from Venezuela, he assumed office on January 1, 2023, succeeding Christina Bohannan, and was re-elected for a second term on November 5, 2024. Notable achievements include passing bipartisan legislation, advocating for voting rights against Governor Reynolds, and serving as Ranking Member of the House Local Government Committee. He also holds positions on the Appropriations Committee and the Public Retirement Systems Committee.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Graduated from City High School in Iowa City; earned a BS from the University of Chicago; currently a Master's student in Data Science at the University of Iowa.
• Political Experience: Began as a research assistant at the University of Iowa and Marine Biological Laboratory; served as an organizing intern and organizer for Pete Buttigieg's 2019-2020 campaign; acted as regional organizing director for the Iowa Democratic Party and out-of-state volunteer coordinator for Jon Ossoff's U.S. Senate campaign. Won the Democratic primary and general election for Iowa House District 90 in 2022 as a progressive organizer.
