Biography

Adam Turk is a Republican representative for District 117 in the Kansas House of Representatives, serving since 2023. A 20-year military veteran and small business owner, he is a security forces master sergeant in the Kansas Air National Guard, with deployments including Bagram, Afghanistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom. He has lived in Johnson County for over 15 years after growing up in rural Douglas County, is married to his college sweetheart Megan, and has three children in the De Soto School District. They are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawnee. District 117 covers western Shawnee, portions of Lenexa, De Soto, and Eudora, and rural areas of Johnson and Douglas Counties along K-10.

Education and Political Experience

Turk holds degrees in criminal justice administration and law enforcement and security. This is his first elected office, with no previous political experience. He was reelected in the 2024 general election and serves on committees during the 2025-2026 sessions, focusing on issues like tax relief for seniors, families, and working Kansans.
