Adam M. Niemerg is a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives representing the 102nd District, which includes all or portions of Champaign, Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, Vermilion, Clay, Edwards, Richland, Wabash, Wayne, and White Counties. A native of Teutopolis, he resides in rural Dieterich in Effingham County with his wife, Trina, and two children. Born on March 17, 1984, Niemerg worked for 12 years as a senior claims adjuster for Country Financial before entering politics. He is a fiscal conservative advocating for tax reduction, limited government, pension reform, pro-life policies, and Second Amendment rights. A member of the American Farm Bureau Federation with family farming roots, he was first elected in 2020 to succeed Darren Bailey in the former 109th District and sworn in on January 13, 2021. Notable positions include committees such as Restorative Justice, Wage Policy Study, and Legislative Audit Commission in the 103rd General Assembly.
