About
Adam Morfeld is a former Nebraska state senator who represented District 46 in Lincoln, encompassing the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus, downtown Lincoln, and northeast Lincoln. A fifth-generation Nebraskan from a Marine Corps family, he served eight years in the nonpartisan Nebraska Unicameral Legislature from 2015 to 2023, after being elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. Notable achievements include passing legislation on criminal justice reform, ending surprise medical bills, protecting online privacy, ensuring emergency treatment for drug overdoses, and addressing sexual assault. He led the successful 2018 Medicaid Expansion Ballot Initiative, providing healthcare to about 90,000 Nebraskans, and co-chairs Nebraskans for Medical Marijuana. In 2022, he ran unsuccessfully for Lancaster County Attorney. Currently, he practices law specializing in nonprofit administration, election law, and policy advocacy; advises donors on pro-democracy infrastructure; teaches constitutional law, public administration, and American government at Nebraska Wesleyan University; and serves as president of the Equality Legal Action Fund.
