Adam Bernbaum (House District 0024)

Adam Bernbaum is a Democratic member of the Washington House of Representatives, representing the 24th Legislative District , which covers much of the rural Olympic Peninsula including Clallam County, Jefferson County, and parts of Grays Harbor County. He was elected in November 2024, defeating Republican Matthew Roberson with 55.9% of the vote, and sworn into office on December 6, 2024. At 32 years old, Bernbaum resides in Port Angeles and focuses on priorities like affordable housing, economic development, rural healthcare, environmental protection, and ensuring young people can pursue dreams while seniors age with dignity. Notable positions include vice chair of the House Transportation Committee.

Education and Political Experience

Bernbaum grew up in a union household in rural Washington, where his father's job as a high school counselor highlighted the value of stable employment and healthcare. He earned a PhD in Political Science from George Mason University's Schar School of Policy and Government in 2022, and previously graduated from the University of Washington.

His political experience includes:
- Legislative Assistant to State Senator Kevin Van De Wege, assisting constituents with healthcare, housing, unemployment, forests, and fisheries.
- Field organizer for Congressman Derek Kilmer’s campaign.
- Rural organizer on the Olympic Peninsula.
- Work with the Council for Court Excellence, a nonprofit focused on behavioral health and criminal justice reform.

Bernbaum serves on community boards including the Olympic View Community Foundation, Nor’wester Rotary, and Clallam County Conservation Futures Program Advisory Board.
