Political Experience
Bass began his political career when he was selected to fill the remainder of Mike Mosura's term on the Bossier Parish School Board representing District 5. He won a special election unopposed to complete that term and was reelected uncontested in November 2022. He served as president of the school board in 2022.
In the 2023 Louisiana State Senate election, Bass ran against incumbent Republican Robert Mills for the 36th district seat. As a State Senator, Bass serves on several committees, including the Senate Committee on Insurance , Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development, Local and Municipal Affairs, Revenue and Fiscal Affairs, and chairs the Select Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs. He is a member of the Louisiana Rural Caucus. His notable legislative votes include supporting Constitutional Carry legislation, law enforcement immunity measures, and criminal justice reform procedures. He is eligible to serve through the end of the 2032-2036 term.
