Abraham "Abe" Jones is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 38 since 2021. A lifelong North Carolina native, he was born in Wilson and raised in Raleigh on the campus of Saint Augustine’s University, where his father was an education professor; he attended Wake County Public Schools and became the first Black student council member at Enloe High School. Jones is a distinguished attorney and former judge with nearly 40 years of legal experience, including roles as a federal prosecutor, Assistant Attorney General, Administrative Law Judge, and Superior Court Judge . Notable achievements include his appointment to the Superior Court by Governor Jim Hunt, election to two terms , service on the Wake County Board of Commissioners , and teaching as an adjunct professor at UNC School of Law.
