Aaron Michlewitz is a Democratic member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 3rd Suffolk District. This district includes Boston neighborhoods such as the North End, Waterfront, Chinatown, South End, Downtown, Leather District, Bay Village, and portions of the West End, Beacon Hill, and Back Bay. First elected in 2009, he has prioritized district-specific legislation, including bilingual ballots for Chinatown residents, stricter fines for trash violations, and adding a South End seat to the MassPort Community Action Committee. Notable achievements include serving as Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee since February 2019, overseeing the state's annual budget and financial legislation; he previously chaired the Joint Committee on Financial Services, Public Service, Election Laws, and the Boston Legislative Delegation. An active community member, he has served as President of the North End Waterfront Neighborhood Council, is part of St. Anthony’s Society, and sits on The Boston Groundwater Trust.

Education and Political Experience

Michlewitz holds an MBA from Suffolk University . Before entering office, he worked as Constituent Services Director for former House Speaker Sal DiMasi from 2004 until DiMasi's resignation in 2009. He has represented the 3rd Suffolk District continuously since his 2009 election.
