Elizabeth Tegtmeier

Elizabeth Tegtmeier was first elected in 2022 to represent District 7 on the Nebraska State Board of Education. A certified English teacher with degrees from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and Kearney, she has twice served as Board president and championed initiatives to streamline teacher certification and improve student proficiency across the state. She announced her reelection bid in July 2025 to continue her work on literacy and teacher recruitment.
