    • Governor-appointed representatives from: commercial real estate/office, restaurant, retail, downtown residential property owners, hotel industry, a downtown cultural institution, two additional downtown business interests, two tax policy experts (including property tax expertise), and two labor union representatives.
  • Members serve without compensation.
  • Subject to appropriation, DCEO provides administrative support and agencies/entities represented on the Task Force must share relevant data.

Duties, reports, and timeline

  • Initial report due to the Governor and General Assembly no later than 12 months after the Act’s effective date, detailing findings and actions.
  • Periodic follow-up reports thereafter for the duration of the Task Force.
  • The Act provides that the Task Force will be dissolved five years after the effective date (per the bill synopsis), and the statute is repealed on January 1, 2032.
