HB 3033
Allows licensed chiropractic physicians to perform and sign athletic physicals and be designated as physicians for school concussion management and pre-participation exams.
HB 3033 amends two provisions of the Illinois School Code (105 ILCS 5/22-80 and 105 ILCS 5/27-8.1) to explicitly include chiropractic physicians in the definition of “physician” for purposes of school concussion management and student athletic physicals. The bill allows a licensed chiropractic physician (as defined in the Medical Practice Act of 1987) to perform required pre‑participation athletic physical examinations and to sign the required athletic physical report forms. It also makes conforming edits to related language in the School Code.
