Purpose

To prevent termination of essential utility services (electric, water, sewer) for vulnerable residential customers during the hottest part of the year by requiring the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to implement a Summer Termination Program that provides shutoff protections and related consumer protections.
