Summary of Bill RKC 2

Overview

Bill RKC 2 is a resolution introduced in the Puerto Rico Legislative Assembly that expresses the Assembly’s strongest rejection of certain U.S. federal policies described as executive actions by President Donald J. Trump. The resolution characterizes these actions as declaring border entry an invasion, removing sanctuary protections for churches, schools, and hospitals, and promoting mass deportation with military assistance. It also repudiates any proposal to use Puerto Rico resources to carry out these initiatives and declares solidarity with immigrant communities in Puerto Rico facing what the resolution describes as persecution by U.S. immigration authorities. The bill is non-binding and serves as a formal expression of the Assembly’s position.
