This Act increases the number of statewide Family Court Commissioners from 5 to 7 with at least 2 of the Commissioners being assigned to Kent County and 2 of the Commissioners being assigned to Sussex County. This Act also requires all newly appointed Commissioners and reappointed Commissioners, upon application for nomination by the Governor, to reside in the county where they seek to be appointed. This Act will take effect on July 1,2024.

This Act requires that a train or light engine used to move freight by railroad have a crew of at least 2 individuals. Violation of this statute subjects the railroad to a $500 fine for a first offense, and a $1,000 fine for a second or subsequent offense within 3 years of the first offense.

This Concurrent Resolution encourages institutions, agencies, entities, and businesses that operate within Delaware, to purchase Delaware-grown food and value-added items. The Resolution also directs the Delaware Council on Farm and Food Policy to work with state agencies, higher education institutions, and other partners to prepare a report outlining current local procurement efforts to support a locally sourced food economy in Delaware, and to submit the report to the Governor and the members of the General Assembly by June 30, 2024. In addition, any updates on efforts must be submitted by December 31, 2024.

William Charles "Bill" Paradee III was born in Dover, Delaware. He received his Bachelor's degree from University of Delaware in 1986, and later earned his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law in 1990. Paradee worked as an attorney before running for office. He served on the Delaware State Board of Education from 2009 to 2018. In 2018, Paradee was elected to the Delaware House of Representatives to represent District 29.read less
