Annual retail sales and use tax holiday. Establishes an annual retail sales and use tax holiday that takes place on the first full weekend in August beginning on August 1, 2025. During such weekend, state retail sales and use tax will not apply to certain (i) school supplies, (ii) clothing and footwear, (iii) qualified products designated as Energy Star or WaterSense, (iv) portable generators, or (v) hurricane preparedness equipment.

ABOUT
Wendell Scott Walker was born on November 2, 1967 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He earned his BA in business administration from Marquette University in 1990. After college, he moved to Minnesota where he managed the family's grocery business and worked in sales and marketing for Trim-Master Corporation. In 1993, Walker returned to Wisconsin and joined the American Red Cross as a professional fundraiser. He went on to work in finance and development at the local YMCA. Walker ran for the State Assembly in 2002 and won re-election three times before resigning in 2009.read less
