Stacey G. Pheffer Amato was born in New York. She earned her B.A. in English and Political Science from SUNY Binghamton in 1993 and her M.S. in Education from Hofstra University in 1995. Amato was elected to the New York State Assembly in 2016. She serves on several committees including Education, Election Law, Governmental Employees, and Social Services.
