Rex Fontaine Rice was born in Rhea County, Tennessee in 1953. He received his Bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1976 and later earned his Master's in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee in 1978. Rice served as County Executive for Rhea County from 2006 to 2018. He was also a high school government teacher as well as varsity basketball coach. Additionally, Rice has owned several small businesses over the past 35 years. In 2018, Rice was elected to represent Tennessee's 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.read less
