Lawrence R. Klemin's political career began when he was elected to the Bismarck Public School Board in 1996. He went on to serve as president of the school board before being elected to the North Dakota House of Representatives in 2002, where he served District 35 until 2010. Klemin sat on several committees during his time in the legislature, including Education, Finance and Taxation, and Industry, Business and Labor. He focused much of his efforts on education policy and funding. Outside of his political involvement, Klemin worked as a real estate appraiser and farmer.read less
