John William Bear is a Reform Party candidate seeking election to the U.S. House to represent the 37th Congressional District of California. Bear joined the military after attending Grossmont Union High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 2005 and was assigned as an Infantryman, Army Ranger, and in Special Operations in the Green Berets. Bear attained the rank of Sergeant First Class before retiring. Bear later worked for the Central Intelligence Agency from 2005 to 2021 as a paramilitary officer and served tours throughout South America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.read less
