John W. Hickenlooper was born February 7, 1952, in Narberth, Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University in 1974 and his Master's degree in geology from Wesleyan University in 1980. After working as a geologist in the early 1980s, Hickenlooper and some partners opened one of the first brewpubs in the country, the Wynkoop Brewing Company, in downtown Denver in 1988. He served as governor of Colorado from 2011 to 2019.read less
