Gerald P. Ortiz y Pino is a current member of the New Mexico State Senate. He represents District 12 and is a Democrat. Senator Ortiz y Pino earned his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of New Mexico in 1973. He served one term in the House of Representatives in 1979. Senator Ortiz y Pino serves as Chair of the Senate Health Committee. He has also been active on the Health Policy Commission, Legislative Health and Human Services Committee and was a member of the Executive Committee of the National Legislative Association on Prescription Drug Prices.read less
