Demond L. Meeks is a community activist in Omaha who founded a college prep program serving disadvantaged youth. After graduating college Demond started working as a lead organizer of several groups promoting juvenile justice reform, voting rights, and employment opportunities. He co-founded Unity in the Community to advocate for policies improving local neighborhoods. Demond was first elected to the Nebraska Legislature in 2020. His goals include expanding programs to support at-risk youth, reducing mass incarceration, and strengthening economic opportunities in disadvantaged communities.read less
