ABOUT
William A. Dotzler Jr. was born in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from West High School, then obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1975. Dotzler first pursued a career in education, teaching government, economics and history courses at Benton Community High School in Van Horne, Iowa from 1975 through 1984. In January 1985, he began working for John Deere Waterloo Works, where he continued until his election to the State Senate. Dotzler won election to the Iowa Senate in November 2004, and has served there since 2005. He represents the 31st district, which includes parts of Black Hawk County.read less
