Phillip Pettus is running for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Mississippi. Pettus was born and raised in Mississippi. He earned his bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University before serving in the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, Pettus returned home and joined the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol. He rose through the ranks over a 31 year career, retiring as a Captain. Since retiring, Pettus has remained active in his community through his church and local civic organizations.read less
