Jay A. Jacobs is the representative from the 28th District in the New York State Assembly. He was first elected in 2016. Jacobs serves on several committees including Agriculture, Election Law, Local Governments and Veterans' Affairs. Prior to joining the state Assembly, Jacobs was a member of the Islip Town Planning Board. He also served as an executive assistant in the Suffolk County Legislature and as a legislative aide to Suffolk County Legislator Thomas Muratore. Jacobs holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Stony Brook University.read less
