James A. Tipton is a Republican member of the Idaho State Senate, representing District 34. He assumed office in 2012. Tipton earned his BBA in finance from Boise State University. He went on to earn his JD from the University of Idaho College of Law. Tipton is the owner of his own law firm. He previously served as chairman of the board of directors, secretary, and board member for Snake River Alliance.
