Deshanna U Neal was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her parents were both in the medical field, and she followed in their footsteps to become a pharmacist. After earning degrees from Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy and University of Mississippi, Neal worked in hospital, retail, and long-term care pharmacy settings. In 2020, Neal ran to represent Louisiana's 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House. During her campaign, she emphasized expanding access to affordable healthcare and bringing more infrastructure investment to the district. Though unsuccessful in her Congressional bid, Neal continues to be active in politics and pharmacy.read less
