Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes was born on March 1, 1951 in Buffalo, New York. She earned her B.A. in Psychology in 1976 from State University College at Buffalo. She worked for over 30 years at the Erie County, New York Department of Social Services as an administrator. She was also elected to the Buffalo Common Council, serving for over 13 years. Peoples-Stokes was elected to the New York State Assembly in 2002. She serves as the Majority Leader and represents the 141st district.read less
