Cliff R. Pirtle's political career began when he was elected to the Roswell City Council in 2010, where he served for 6 years. In 2016, Pirtle ran for the New Mexico Senate in District 32 and defeated incumbent Senator Phil Griego in the Democratic primary election. Pirtle serves on the following committees: Conservation; Indian, Rural, and Cultural Affairs; Vice Chair of Military and Veterans' Affairs.
