ABOUT
Barry D. Hovis is a small business owner from Cape Girardeau. He was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2006 and currently serves as the Majority Whip. Hovis earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University. Prior to joining the legislature, he owned and operated a family shoe store for over 30 years. Hovis serves on several House committees including Budget and Education. Some of his top legislative priorities are improving Missouri's business climate, providing tax relief, and fully funding public education. He resides in Cape Girardeau with his wife, Leanne. They have two adult children.read less
