Zellnor Myrie was born in Costa Rica to parents of African and Costa Rican descent. His family moved to Brooklyn, where he attended Brooklyn Technical High School. Myrie earned a bachelor's degree from Fordham University and a law degree from Cornell Law School. He worked as a lawyer and served as a White House Fellow in the Obama Administration. Myrie won election to the New York State Senate in 2018. He represents parts of Brooklyn, including Brownsville, Crown Heights, and East Flatbush. Myrie serves on several Senate committees related to housing, labor, elections, and corporations.read less
