Yvonne Hayes Hinson was born in Greensboro, North Carolina. She earned her B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Bennett College in 1984. Hinson served on the Greensboro City Council from 1993 to 2000. She worked to increase funding for housing, job creation and retention. She also worked to reduce crime through community policing. In 2018, Hinson was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives. She serves on several committees including Appropriations, Education, Homelessness, Foster Care and Dependency, and Wildlife Resources.read less
