Yudelka Tapia was born in Puerto Rico before moving to the Bronx at age 5. She graduated from Hostos Community College before going on to earn a Bachelor's degree in accounting from Lehman College. Tapia worked as an account executive and auditor. In 2012, Tapia ran for New York State Assembly District 84 but lost in the primary. She worked on Mayor Bill de Blasio's campaign before serving as Treasurer of his inauguration committee. Tapia lives in the Bronx with her husband and two daughters.read less
