William M. "Bill" Stanley, Jr. is a member of the Republican Party. He has served in the Virginia House of Delegates since 1998. Stanley represents Virginia's 20th district, which includes parts of Franklin and Henry Counties as well as the cities of Martinsville and Collinsville. Stanley serves on the Committee on Commerce and Labor, Committee on Finance, and Committee on General Laws. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Virginia Code Commission. Stanley previously served as the Majority Whip in the House from 2006 to 2009. Stanley earned his B.A. from the University of Richmond. He later received his J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law. Prior to joining the Virginia House of Delegates, Stanley worked as an attorney.read less
