W. Scott Oelslager graduated from Mount Union College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1977. He later earned a Master of Education degree in Guidance Counseling from Kent State University in 1981. Oelslager started his political career serving two terms on North Canton City Council from 1980 to 1986. He was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 1985 where he served until 2000. In 1996, he was elected to the Ohio Senate representing the 29th District. He has been reelected five times and continues to serve in the state Senate.read less
