Vivian E. Cook was born on October 1, 1941 in New York, New York. She earned her B.A. from Hunter College in 1963. She was elected to the New York State Assembly in 1990 and served Albany County's 108th district. In 2012 she was elected to the New York State Senate to represent district 32. She serves on several legislative committees including Consumer Protection and Health. Her professional experience includes working as Director of Special Services for the North Colonie School District.
