Valerie McDonnell was born and raised in Michigan. After receiving her bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University, she moved to Arizona where she completed her master's degree in education at Northern Arizona University. McDonnell worked as a special education teacher before being elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2016. As a state representative, she has focused on education and disability issues. McDonnell serves on the House Education Committee.read less
