Val L. Peterson was born in Utah. He attended Utah State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science. Peterson served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California. He later worked as a teacher and principal. In 2012, Peterson was elected to the Utah House of Representatives. He serves on several committees including the House Education Committee. Peterson resides in Orem, Utah with his wife and five children.read less
