Tina L. Spears was born in Crowley, Texas. She received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Texas. After college, Ms. Spears worked briefly as a paralegal before becoming a high school government teacher. In 2010, Ms. Spears ran for her local school board and won. She served two terms on the board before deciding to run for the state legislature. Ms. Spears is focused on improving education funding and supporting teachers.read less
