Timothy Truett was born in Brownsville, Texas on April 28, 1947. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1972 as an infantry platoon commander in Vietnam. Truett attended SFA State University before entering banking and financial services in 1973. After serving as deputy manager of a local credit union, he was elected to the state legislature in 1989 as a Republican. He chaired the Children and Human Services Committee and led efforts to improve adoption and foster care. Truett and his wife Martha live in Austin, Texas.read less
