Timothy O'Brien was born in Wyandotte, Michigan in 1953. He served for over 30 years in the United States Army, retiring at the rank of Command Sergeant Major. O'Brien served multiple tours of duty overseas, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal among other commendations. After retiring from the military, O'Brien launched a campaign for Kansas's 2nd congressional district in 2020. He defeated incumbent Representative Steve Watkins in the Republican primary and Democrat Michelle De La Isla in the general election.read less
