Timothy H. Johnson was elected to the U.S. House to represent South Dakota's At-Large Congressional District in 2020. Prior to his election, Johnson served as a state legislator in South Dakota for eight years. Johnson sits on the House Agriculture, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Veterans' Affairs Committees. He has sponsored bills related to agriculture, veterans' healthcare, tribal issues, and rural development. Johnson is a fourth generation South Dakotan. Before entering politics, he served in the South Dakota Army National Guard and worked in agriculture and economic development.
