Thomas H. Kean was born on April 21, 1935 in New York City. He received a B.A. degree from Princeton University in 1957, attended Teachers College, Columbia University and did graduate work at the University of Virginia. Kean served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 1968 to 1978, was a member of the Board of Chosen Freeholders in Morris County and served on the Morristown Planning Board, Historic Sites Committee, Human Relations Council and Arts Council. In 1982, Thomas Kean was elected Governor of New Jersey.read less
