Thomas Gerhold is a former Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 61 from 2009 to 2010. Gerhold attended Wayne State University. He worked as a substitute teacher for Detroit Public Schools from 1998 to 2008. Gerhold was elected to the Michigan House in November 2008. He lost his bid for re-election in 2010 to Republican Phillip Potvin. After leaving the legislature, Gerhold returned to working as a substitute teacher.read less
