Theresa Wood was born in Springfield, VA. She attended Mount Vernon High School and graduated in 1975. Wood earned her Bachelor's degree in Administration of Justice from George Mason University in 1979. After college, Wood worked for the Fairfax County Police Department for over 30 years, retiring as a lieutenant. She focused on community policing initiatives to build trust between police and residents. In 2019, Wood was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates representing the 35th district. She serves on the Committees on General Laws, and Transportation.read less
