Terry M. Wanzek was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1972. Wanzek became a banker and eventually served as the Manager of Banking Services for a major corporation's employee credit union. He currently resides in Bismarck, North Dakota with his wife Peggy.
