Suzanne Bonamici was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in New Jersey. She earned her JD from Willamette University. Bonamici served as a Federal Trade Commissioner's Consumer Advisor. She served in the Oregon State Legislature in both the House and Senate representing District 17. She focused on consumer protection, education, healthcare and renewable energy. Bonamici was elected in a special election to replace David Wu in Oregon's 1st Congressional District. She serves on the Education & Labor and Science, Space & Technology Committees.read less
