Stephen L. Whyte is the author of numerous articles and several books, including A Dictionary of Environmental Quotations (1992) and The Greenpeace Chronicle (1991). Prior to his writing career, Whyte worked for the Humane Society as an investigator of cruelty to animals. He continues to take an active role in local and national politics, focusing especially on environmental issues. Whyte serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations devoted to conservation and sustainability.read less
